The house is also called „Sapphire” and was built by an Armenian merchant Torosz in the second quarter of the 17th century. Thanks to a well-preserved front facade we know what a typical Armenian house looked like. The facade is decorated with a geometrical and plant frieze. The name of the house comes from grotesque figures of a married couple located in the attic. Much of the original layout of the house has been preserved inside.
