Diocesan Museum in Opole from the beginning of its existance - 21.11.1987- has became an important centre of culture in the city and has started activity which aim is to present the past of Opole land but also at the present created artistic culture.

The museum is located in a beautiful and functional building. People from Opole but not only, often visit the museum. In the memorial book, there are inscriptions of marked secular people and clergymen, representatives of Church's hierarchy and National Authorities. The goal of the museum is collecting, protecting, preservation and exposure of sacral objects that existed centuries ago in the land of Opole. In two rooms , there are displayed the most interesting sacral objects concerning artistic and historical values. The display includes vestments, ordinals, missals, paramenta; it presents the objects while preserving. Thanks to that the visitors have chance to observe a complicated process of restoring previous look and gloss of those objects. Gothic figures belong to the most precious monuments : "Matka z Dzieciątkiem" (Holy Mother with Holy Infant) from the Parlers' school, "Krucyfiks"(The crucifix) from group of Tilman Riemeschneider and "Pieta" by Wit Stwosz, florentine renaissance painting "Madonna z Dzieciątkiem i św. Janem Chrzcicielem"(Madonna with Holy Infant and St. John the Baptist) and "Adoracja Dzieciątka"(Adoration of Holy Infant) from Fra Angelico's school.
